All Annie Berner pieces are handmade in Norway from 90-95% recycled metals. 925 silver and 585 gold are precious metals and should be treated and cared for accordingly.
Care recommendations for all pieces
After wear, gently wipe your pieces with the soft cloth provided before storing them in the airtight bag. Avoid storing precious metal jewellery in humid environments, such as bathrooms, and prevent direct contact with liquids such as perfume, hairspray and lotion, as exposure to moisture or chemicals may cause tarnish to occur.
Your packaging will contain a padded box to avoid damage while in transit, a soft cloth for wiping metals, and airtight zip bags for you to keep your jewellery in while not in use.

925 silver Use silver dip or paste to clean your pieces and make sure to follow the product’s instructions carefully. After cleaning, pat dry with a soft cloth and let dry completely before storing to prevent tarnish - a hairdryer on low temperature can be useful to reach all areas. We recommend storing 925 silver pieces in separate bags or containers to avoid scratching. Airtight bags are provided with the packaging; If you purchase multiple pieces or a pair of earrings you will receive one bag for each piece.
Gold plated 925 silver Our gold-plated pieces feature a 3–5 micron layer of 14K yellow gold on a 925 silver base. When the base metal is 925 silver and the gold layer exceeds 0.5 microns, this technique is traditionally called gold vermeil. All gold plating is done in our studio to ensure consistent quality and colour. Gold plating can maintain its beautiful appearance if cared for properly. We recommend removing gold-plated pieces when showering, washing your hands or working out, as moisture and friction can increase wear. To clean your pieces, avoid chemical cleaners. 585 gold All pieces are available to order in solid 585 gold, also known as 14K gold, in yellow or white. Keep in mind that 585 gold is heavier and more costly than 925 silver; weight and price are calculated upon request. Pieces with stones or pearls The cleaning process for pieces with stones or pearls differs slightly, as these should not be completely submerged in water. Submerging them can cause water to become trapped in the setting and difficult to dry completely, which may lead to discolouration, or loosen the stone or pearl over time. To clean your pieces, use a soft cloth to gently wipe the metal, taking care to avoid the area close to the setting.
